1920's Identified US Coast & Geodetic Survey Officers Uniform Jacket Hawaiian Island Related. Black wool body, very similar to a early US Navy officers coat. Has mohair braid on collars, and chest, and on the back, with decorative roping (?) around collars.  On the collars in heavy silver bullion are the USC & GS coolar insignia and Lt rank. On the bottom of each sleeve cuff are Officers cuff stripes and silver globes. Inside it is named to a Earl M Buckingham. He did lots of important surveying of the different Hawaiian Islands in the 20's. There is a great account on the internet about him. Will include the printout we found on him. Very tough uniform to find for an obscure US service. Excellent condition.
