Truly a stunning piece of insignia! Jeweler made, believed to be French US flying eagle cap device. It is an unknown piece of insignia, believed to possibly be a WWI Air Corps veterans cap insignia for the 10 ten WWI reunion in Paris France in 1927.

During the Paris Convention of 1927 in France, the American Legion organized a veteran’s trip known as the Second American Expeditionary Forces in honor of the ten year anniversary of America's entry into World War I.

Believe it is a cap insignia because the eagle is concaved to fit the shape of the front crown of a visor cap. Has cotter pin back, Jeweler, 980 silver, Paris markings on back.

Large insignia, measures 4 1/4 inches from wing tip to wing tip.

Just a really beautiful piece, very well made.
