WWII Army Air Forces 14th Air Force / China Air Task Force Rare Variant Patch. Where to start with this super rare patch. Chinese raw silk, hand embroidered body. Shoulder sleeve size. This came out of a local estate where they family was convinced Dad was a "Flying Tiger", but he was 14th air force, China Air Task Force, and at the end of the war was affiliated with CNAC. During the late 40's-50's he was involved in numerous "contract" airlines in Asia and when the Chinese were moving in to kill the Dalai Lama he was called into rescue him but since he wouldn't leave this pilot just photographed him going about his business. If it wasn't for him no photos would have existed and the Chinese would have killed the Dalai Lama. He was a heavly involved "company man" post WWII. We have sat on this for about three years hoping more would come out of the estate but nothing else has.  This is a killer one of a kind CBI / 14th AF patch and in excellent condition.
